Several Questions Regard The Pacific War 2014
« on: April 29, 2014, 03:18:02 PM »
I've glanced over the rules: http://ahevents.org/events/scenarios/current-or-next-scenario.html

1. I can't find an impact of previous frame on the next frame... i.e. Perl Harbor results looks like do not affect Midway. Is this true or I miss something?

2. How the registration would work - would we register for a specific squadron and/or planes or just we would be split arbitrary into squadrons regardless plane preferences. i.e. Plane set changes some USN/Marines others USAF and USN and the last is actually flying much more modern planes than before. How would it work? How would squadron leaders would know what are they flying (besides getting orders from the CO)

The frames will not impact the other frames. The scores will be tallied for each side per frame. After all frames are complete, the side with the most points wins.

Ask ROC about registration, it seems he never does the same system twice these days.

Artik, the event isn't complete and published, the stuff on that page is nothing more than a placeholder until the event is released.
As for registering, the CO's will assign you where they want you.  It's all about team building, make the CO want you :)

Change has many layers my friend. The registration system change is the most visible and easiest change.

Makes sense.  If frames impacted other frames set in a different time period and location, it would/could cease being a historically accurate event after frame 1.

Well the second you throw a TBM-3 into Midway it ceases to be accurate. Not to mention that out of the 41 TBD-1's at See Rules #2, #4
Maybe it'll happen that way. Last time I flew a TMB I think I saw the carrier and then I remember spinning into the Pacific....

Don't forget the Colonial Viper, Firefly class transports, and Veritech Valkyrie's.

Dude,

Whether a Devastator or an Avenger what difference does it make? The American torpedoes used during the period were the same. If it were launched and it ran true, your targeted ship is going to sink or maybe not. American torpedoes were notoriously unreliable. Which plane you used to get the torpedo to it launch point did not matter. You know that HTC has to weigh the difference between the development time on the TBD devastator and how much players are going to use it in the MA.

Stand back a couple of rows and look in on what is being argued as opposed to what the purpose of scenario actually is. How far off are you from its intended purpose?

Wow! like to have fun... Plain and simple. Everyone just wants to have fun. Your chance of caughting a 50 cal. to the brain in aerial combat with a Wildcat are pretty slim in RL. But guys that appreciate the period come here to try and feel what was going on then in the minds of a few kids that were flying combat planes to their deaths.

Think a little bit less of yourself and little more of the guys that are trying to relive this experience.

I think that should justify the TBM in that case. Because your not going to get the Devastator in time for the event.

Can we agree to end it here as far as the plane sets are concerned?
