2, 500 pound bombs would kill a 1012 pound object? Or is that a typo? I'm not really sure I understand how much damage a certain weight bomb dispenses.
Not a typo- 2/500 lbs bombs deliver more damage than 1/1000 lb bomb. For everyone's benefit, I'll list out the bomb damage below (the ones I've tested, at least):
GP Bomb wt. = lbs in damage
100 lb= 156 lbs
250 lb= 312 lbs
500 lb= 562 lbs
1000 lb = 1000 lbs
1600 lb (AP) = 2061 lbs
2000 lb = 1718 lbs
4000 lb (HC) =3125 lbs
GP Bomb wt = lbs in damage
50kg = 172 lbs
60kg = 206 lbs
100 kg = 275 lbs
250 kg = 618 lbs
500 kg =1100 lbs
800 kg = 1443 lbs
1000 kg = 2835 lbs
1800 kg = 2403 lbs
Keep in mind the following:
1> An AP bomb does 150% of the GP bomb damage, but only has 20% of the blast radius (DON'T MISS!).
2> An SAP bomb does 125% of the GP bomb damage, but only 33% of the splash area (DON'T MISS!)
3> An HC bomb does 75% of the GP bomb weight damage, but has 125% of the splash area (can be slightly tipsy when used).
Oh, and for good measure here are the air to ground rockets:
US 4.5 inch = 125 lbs (HE), same as on the M4/75mm Calliope.
US 5in HVAR = 156 lbs (HE)
USSR RS82 = 93 lbs (HE)
USSR RS132 = 125 lbs (HE)
British 60 Pdr = 187 lbs (SAP/HE)
German Pb1 = 93 lbs (anti-armor!)
EDIT: This information was also given to the AH Trainer's to use on their website. But alas.....
