I may use the Meteor because of it's 20mm Hispano gun package since I can't hit the ground with the 262s 30mm pack. I think some of the real good 262 sticks would eat the Meteor in air to air combat. Plus the Meteor saw little action anyway. I think it was used to chase down V-1s mostly.
I can go back to my comments from 2002 and agree. However, HTC said a few years ago (2006) that the plane needed to be in combat in World War 2. The F7F Tigercat was enroute to Okinawa and landed when the war ended, does not qualify as combat. The Dornier 335 was a prototype that ran into allied fighters, but never entered production - still didn't see combat as HTC said prototypes will not be added. The C.205 flew with drop tanks far more then then F7F and 335 and many others - in combat, and its been hell trying to get me to get them added in game. However, the Meteor flew combat missions, V-1s were still combat - it was flown on mostly attack missions late in the war because the British did not want the Meteors falling into German hands, wise decision since it could easily end up in Russia's hand as well.
Whether its ground attack or flying against V-1s, its still in production, and in combat. And in 2002 I can agree I would of been against the Meteor on grounds I rather have aircraft like the Ki-44 and Ki-43, anything that seen combat daily vs something that really didn't play a direct role in the war. However I won't go against something that seen combat.
/I can see even 5 years ago, butting heads with Karnak over the Meteor, maybe I am getting old?
