A single TigerII is able to hide in the town and kill most tanks on the ridges at will. Since you have no air support less than 10 minutes away, turns into a very frustrating fight. The tank guys really don't want to do a joint services base capture as much as they want to tank town it like CraterMA. A box of Lancs and a good jabo can take down the VH, then clean up the tiger(s), and then what?? The GV guys just want to sit on the ridge and long range other tanks. TigerII are impervious to 88 AP past 4000yds dropping in from the top. TigerII on the ridge are taking under the nose and die just like every other tank.
The open flat plain that has to be traversed to get into town for cover is a perfect killing zone for a hidden TigerII sitting in the town. Went through this one night with a half dozen guys trying to kill a single TigerII sitting in town. Our TigerII were being killed by his rounds hitting under the front of the armor as they sat up on the ridge. Theirs just bounced off him at 5000yds. Another night the airfield had a TigerII in town with air support upping. The air support killed the tanks while the TigerII cleaned out the wirble protecting the tanks.
I suspect changing the terrain between the foot of the ridge and the edge of town to include trees and hiding spots would make the fight more attractive to GVers.
