How do people come by this kind of money?! Man, what I wouldn't give to own/fly one of these one day, but I just cannot imagine ever having the money to do so...

Yeah, and he could also just crash it into a building.  Or steal an A-10 with live bombs like Craig Button did.

So let's ban everything and wrap everyone in bubblewrap.

We could live in white padded rooms like THX-1168 or whatever it was called.

No thanks, I'll take my freedom.  Besides, "THE GRAY EAGLES" (Duane Unkefer) is only a novel...but the good guys still shoot down the bad guys.

Craig button didnt break into an airforce base and stole an a10.  he was on a training mission when most likely he decided to kill himself, nobody really knows what happened.

but cool as it sounds to have a fully armed pony, there's no real reason for a civilian to fly an aircraft with fully functional mgs.  that's what I think anyway.

but you are assuming that I am talking about not having guns, well considering that I own a couple myself.  and I have never read the gray eagles, so not sure what that is all about.

If you can't trust a law abiding caretaker of a precious airplane like a Mustang.....what does it say when you trust an Air Force officer who was capable of doing far far worse?

If you can't trust a guy like the owner of the Mustang, who can you trust?

We trusted an Air Force officer who could have done far worse.

In the end, it seems people are willing to put more trust in one person vs another based simply upon the clothes they wear (a uniform vs not).

See what I mean?

Last time I checked, we aren't quite to the point of having to justify a need to our government before being able to own something.  We also have a civil right to keep and bear arms, the words "shall not be infringed" are also included in the 2nd amendment.

Your mindset is fundamentally flawed on this one semp.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

rob,

I never question him owning the mgs themselves.  and I would never question that.  for one I believe in the second amendment just as much as you do.  Like i said, I own a couple of guns myself.

Sorry semp.  I'm overly sensitive when it comes to restrictions.

But then only criminals will have guns in their planes. If every civilian is allowed to carry a sidearm on the streets why not planes?
