Cockpit Updates

I'm wishing for all the remaining rides that still have the old v1 graphics to get their makeovers.   I've taken to flying a Tempest recently and the cockpit looks so bad compared to the Spits and other updated rides.   I hope that we won't be seeing the old cockpits when the beta comes out guys - it will look really bad then.

Until they started on AH III HTC had been updating 1 or 2 AH1 rides on pretty much every major update. Since then they have been concentrating on the art for the new terrain, creating the ground tiles, buildings, ships etc.  Redoing an AH1 shape is almost as much work as a complete new ride, only the flight models and maybe the damage model carries over. Despite that we will get a new TBM on the next update. Once the new version is out I am sure they will begin getting the remaining AH1 stuff brought up to the latest standards as well.

Pardon my recollection was that the Tempest was an update.  I think it was one of the first updated though.

The Typhoon has been updated but not the Tempest. While they look quite similar at a glance, they are actually very different aircraft in detail.

Even with the old cockpits and 3D modeling, the alpha\AH3 makes them look better than they do in AH2 as the old modeling.
