Any Saitek X56 users out there? strange issue.
« on: October 20, 2016, 07:35:25 PM »
I cannot replicate this issue with any other game, or the programming software.  it only occurs with AH.

When I go to takeoff the guns automatically start firing...  the instant the plane is on the runway.  I tap the trigger and they stop and after that everything works perfectly..

UNLESS

I move the C stick to the right, the guns start firing again until I tap the trigger..

The C stick, and all of its direction are unmapped both in the saitek software and in AH.  there is no programmed correlation between it and the trigger (guns)

to reiterate.. again...    i cannot reproduce this issue outside of AH, it ONLY happens in this game, not in any other and not in the stick mapping software.

UPDATE:

The C stick's X axis fires the guns, the Y axis does not, moving it either way on the x axis will fire all guns, despite that input (analog c stick X and Y axis ) not being mapped to anything.

The plane begins firing guns the instant it starts on the runway and only stops if you pull and release the trigger (button 0)

The issue is not one of the C stick somehow cross referencing Button 0  (trigger) because even if I  completely unmap button 0 the C stick still fires the guns.

Things I have tried:

Switching USB ports.

Uninstalling and reinstalling saitek software.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the HOTAS in device manager.

Other games: WarThunder, StarCitizen, Arma 3  Issue is not present.

In the saitek software moving the analog C stick does not causing any reaction from any other buttons, it is also set to UNPROGRAMMED.

Its 100% consistent in AH and repeatable every single time.

I had a similar problem with my X55 Rhino in Aces High.  I found I had keypresses programmed below the normal axes stuff.  This included my rudder pedals.

During this time I had a MS game controller also attached to the machine.

I disconnected the MS game controller and went into the Aces High stick settings and insured that nothing was programmed in it except what was needed for the game.  By moving the sticks and rudder around I discovered the problems.

That cleared it up and I never had another problem with it.  The major offender was the rudder pedals, though. The throttle had a few issues.  The rudder pedals would fire guns when I put on the brakes.

My trouble shoot was not very scientific but it worked.  I also bought a switched/powered USB hub so I could keep the MS game controller plugged in, but switched off, when simming.

Hope that helps you.

I have the X55 and if I start messing around with the Aces High options it will fire guns when I go to take off. I just reinstall the Game and that fixes it.
