190F-8 Rocket Sight
«

I'm looking for a good gunsight to use with the 190F-8 PB-1 Rockets. I remember that someone had customized one for that, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe it wasn't updated for AH3?

Chances are it was something I did as a one off and it was in cyan. Here try this one, the top of the V is each wing hard point with rockets. Aim biasing that as the center to place a rocket on a tank from 400. Make sure you are at 300 or faster or that rocket will drop into the dirt.

FW pilots discovered on the eastern front to fire sub 100m with the rockets and they nailed T34. Try it offline against a drone.

190F8 is the best standoff de-acker we have in the game.

I bet when you make your rockets run each time your TAS is 300-325. Unless you are 70 degrees and above the field. Below 300 at normal attack run angles those R4M rockets drop like rocks because their velocity is 525 M\sec. Not much different than the MK108 round except the larger mass benefits from the 300 TAS.

like all 190s, you should never ever fly slower than 300.
I do a very shallow dive, and take 3 guns on each side in two runs, with initial 11k.
AH3 make very hard to judge if acks are down or not.
Either i use the bomb on VH, or on a pesky wirbie

Nope. Yak-9T is.

I did not know you could shoot outside ack range with a Yak9t.
Please explain how you perform such an attack.

Yak9T in AH2 had a 2400yd range before the round disappeared. I made a gunsight specifically to leverage that range for deacking. Point your nose straight down form 6000ft and no wirbel or auto ack could touch you. Or stand off a fire long. It's now down to about 1200 in AH3. The NS-37 was never more than a 1000m effective motor cannon depending on the target. Waystin picks uppers on the runway while he deacks from 1000yds.

You can also do effective de-acks with the 410 50mm.
The yak-9t is relatively easy to aim as well compared to wing mounting cannons or rockets.

Have a 5000yd sight for the B,K5 which Morfeind will attest to that I could target his FW sitting on the runway when he helped me test it. Though 3000yd is a more accurate long range to start from for ground pounding or rearm pad picking. The dispersion at 5k is horrendous.

I'm confused now, what planes/ords can you kill a number of ack with - without them shooting back ?
I start with release the first rocket at 11k agl, and I'm pulling up at 7,5k agl (auto-acks reach 7k agl)

I was talking about the BK5,0 in the 410.
As for the R4M rocket, I've never tested diving at 0 degree to see what it's maximum range in the game is. The AAF discovered by 45 the best AoA for rockets was (70-vertical) to get the longest firing range and least aiming problems due to rocket ballistics or aircraft speed. In the near vertical flight attitude it was harder for return fire to hit the plane. FW groups on the eastern front found sub 100m firing at tanks was the most effective way to get an R4M on the tank. Drawback was not slapping your tail against the turret.

Fortunately for the buffs in AH, 262s and 190s dont have R4M rockets, or it would be a massacre on them.
I do a shallow dive and let the rocket away using the ger16 gunsight, aiming with the lowest horizontal line.
