There are a ton of these applications already. While I was looking for a cure to the petite-freeze problem I decided that telemetry could be part of the problem. ShutUp10 was one I tested, but I ended up using the one made be the same people that maintain Spy-Bot Search & Destroy. Their version is called Spybot Anti-Beacon, which was initially offered for Windows 10, but works with all Windows versions now.

Stopping Windows 7 telemetry is just a matter of removing one update. Just FYI. Not sure about Windows 8/8.1.
