Keyboards commands
« on: March 02, 2017, 01:57:55 AM »
I have a weird issue. My aces high works great on my intel I7 system 7. However, on my computer I keep at work, it is an amd running  system 10. I absolutely cannot get certain keystrokes to work. C and v for gunner ranging is most noteworthy. My mouse wheel does it, but in larger jerks. Hard to tune an 88, as it will go from 1.5 to 1.9 to 2.5 etc.
So anyone got an idea. Home machine set up identical to work machine except for CPU and system. Vid card at work is a 4 gig while one at home is an 8 gig.both nvidia.
Thank you!

Without further details we can only guess.

You say your work computer runs Win10 and has an amd processor. Is it an older amd system upgraded to 10? If so, the processor may only use one core for AH. That used to plague many amd processors and for what I know there's no absolute list about "working" models. Further, amd is just a manufacturer just like Ford. Ka, Pinto or Mustang?

Likewise, knowing you have an Nvidia video card in both doesn't help much. Especially in the 4 gig models there's both low and high end cards whose memory types differ tremendously from each other. Ka, Pinto or Mustang again. The 8 gig card is most likely a relatively new high end card.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

If you go into "Key Mapping" and press the suspect keys, do they light up on the virtual keyboard?  If not, then they are either being intercepted by some other software, or they are not using standard PC scan codes (not uncommon these days).

For the latter, you use the "Fix Key" button to fix the suspect key.  For the former, you just need to find the software capturing the keys and disabling it.

If neither of the above is true, does the computer only have a mouse for input and no stick?  That can cause the game to go into mouse-only mode and a number of things will default to the mouse.
