Ground-Egress Logic for Boneheads

Disable bailout option when "End Sortie" is green on the clipboard.

Last night at the end of FSO I was sitting on the runway in my pristine P-40N about to end flight.  I started to type something in the text buffer before going to the tower but changed my mind.  Instead of tapping the Backspace Key like I wanted to clear the buffer, I was tapping the Enter Key and ended up standing in the middle of the runway holding my gun. :O  I did not stick around to find out if my paints were up or down, but my face was definitely red. :o

I cannot think of a reason why someone would rather bailout than accept a successful landing; but if there is, it would be nice to have an intermediate step like opening a textbox that said:

Possible Bonehead Detected at Keyboard!
Are you a bonehead who wants to bail instead of land successfully?
YES/NO (No is the default.)

Clicking YES bails you out.
Clicking NO stops the bailout process.
The NO would be the default in case there are a lot of Enter Key presses still in the keyboard buffer.

Or you can do what I did and remap the bailout key to the ENTER key on the number pad.

Having done what you did more than once I sympathize.

Either rebind the bail out key or unbind it.  I removed the key command when I first started AH and haven't bailed out in 17 years.

I've done that more times than I care to admit, both in WarBirds and here.   Even in a scenario once.

'Escape' seems like an overwhelmingly logical candidate for key remap here, but what key then makes sense to bring up the clipboard?

That's the same key mine is programmed to.

Ctrl-Enter is another good alternative for "Enter"x3.

Requires two fingers.   Not easy to do knife edge above the trees with one wing.  Lol

When I first started, way back in Warbirds, I was in the middle of a fight when my cat walked across my keyboard.  Suddenly I was out of my plane.

I learned to keep the cat away from my keyboard.
