Kind of sad when Molsman goes through the trouble to set this up for everyone to enjoy, just to have a few thinking they need to have the biggest tanks and sit on a hill and take pot shots across the battlefield. When a tank is driving for three minutes just to try to get into the fun is taken out only to start driving again, because someone wants to be special. That right there is one of the reasons numbers are down and no one is playing.
I salute you Mols for all you do. But please let's leave the tigers out so all of us have a chance.

It is the spirit of the player that will dictate that. If the player is selfish and whats nothing more than to snipe easy kills then that is what he is going to do. Changing that player to make him want to play a hide and seek type of game for everyones fun isn't going to happen. Its why I wont go out of my way to try and get in there on a Thursday night. I can get spawn camped in the MA any time.

I really was hoping to make one of the training secessions.

I am still having fun we would love to get some more die hard gvers in there last night it was 7vs7 all night fights were fun and the base take battle was even fun. The team has some more projects lined up for the future.

We must admit, the American Army at Kesserine went through the same thing and must have felt much worse with German 88s on the ridges.

At the next staff meeting we should see if turning off the lights (night time) might even things up a bit.
Easy in-game again.

Guilty as charged Shipp. It was me that took you out before you logged last light, and I wasn't in a Tiger, I was in a Firefly. I had just gotten to the top of the small hill after a 5 minute drive, and stopped to take a look at the battle field. I saw you heading toward the town and took the shot. BTW it was a 3600 yard shot at a moving target, so it was pure luck that I hit you. It's a game, I play for the fun of it, you should too.
PS - I am special, momma always told me so.  :D

this week was pretty intense with the numbers and types of tanks we had in there. everyone has a fair shot and killing and getting killed.

gyk had my number a few times, so did mano. its part of the game. whether close or far, a kill is a kill. war is hell and death sucks.

the spawns were  very well set up the the radar delay keeps people from sneaking up on other people. as long as you move, there's never a problem.

in regards to fugitives post, there were NO spawns camped. both sides had to run out to get to the action.

shipper, unfortunately got hit by a lucky shot. it was addressed "to whom it may concern" and shipper got in the way.

I got hit by shots that weren't lucky but were addressed "to jaeger1". sometimes its a good night, sometimes you're a victim all night long
it just depends. join in and play for what its worth. atleast you're not getting bombed by lancasters!!

I'm not upset at Dmdjj. I actualy thought it was a great shot finally. He tried for at least a minute!! My problem is that if I were a newb, I would be upset driving for a few minutes , get shot drive a few minutes , get shot. So on and so on. When you get killed four five time without getting close enough to shoot at something, even if it is a tree that looks like jaeger,, 😃 It would turn anyone off. I probably mis stated this in my first post.

An aside: Personally I can't imagine why any newcomer would ever stay with Aces High.  Most other online games have match-making where players of supposed equal ability are matched against each other.  While apparently people complain about bad match making, at least the games have it.  In AH a newcomer is thrown into the MA cauldron to go up against mostly experts who have been doing this for many, many years.  (I have literally 30 years in this going back to Air Warrior 1.0 on GEnie.)  Not only does the newcomer not get better equipment than the pros to compensate for lack of experience, he actually is forced into worse equipment (perk system).  Newcomers are forced to have Sisyphean patience to put up with weeks and weeks and weeks of doing nothing but dying.  It's a wonder that anyone ever stays.

At least in the AvA everyone gets to use the same equipment, even if they don't have the perk points.  And on Tank Night they don't have to deal with the added annoyance of being constantly bombed or listening to planes buzz constantly overhead.

I think nights where there is some goal, like capture and then defend a neutral town, helps to even things out.  Players have a task to perform beyond just killing enemy tanks and that task distracts them from sniping or ambushing and forces them to move or act in ways that are maybe not optimized for killing while surviving.

Interesting info, I didn't know about those other games.

One other thing going for Tank Night when there's a neutral base up for grabs, each side concentrates their forces for the capture and the snipers are somewhat forced to come off their perch.

I didn't hear Molsman declare a victor for last Thursday but he wouldn't be able to declare an Axis or Allied victory because both side had the same equipment. To recap, after the west side initially took the neutral base, and left tanks in the town to defend, the east side captured the town to take it away from them and held it for the remainder of the night.

So I don't know who 'won' the setup, but it was fun.

I was Having to much fun dying, But the allied Side maintained Keeping the base so they would of won the match by keeping the town.
