A secret to this, adjust the pitch in the oba file, open the terrain editor and look at the wheels for touching the ground. If you like what you see, run build, save tends to default the static object that looks like a plane back to the object's center line level with the ground. Also, the airplane static object will be in the default skin no matter what you do. The pitch and level ground orientation for grass and Marsden matting are slightly different I found out. So a simple copy and paste in the oba file didn't always work other than getting me close. You spend a lot of time with your nose in the ground peeking under your static object plane.
