Installed New Video Card, Now No Mic
« on: October 13, 2017, 08:26:37 PM »
I installed a new GeForce GTX 1050Ti and everything is great, but no mic. Sound works fine but no mic! Thoughts?

Right-click on the volume icon in the lower right of your desktop.
Select 'Recording Devices'
Find your device and Right-Click on it.
Select 'Set as Default Device'.

Also disable the NVidia HDMI pass-through audio driver.

Has NVidia stopped providing an option to not install that audio driver?

I think I did see that option, now that I think about it.

The only time you need that NVidia or AMD audio driver is when you expect audio to go through an HDMI cable to a television or monitor with speakers.

If your audio is provided by USB, or sound card/chip, then you do not need that driver.  That driver can cause major stability issues if it collides with the other sound drivers in the system at interrupt time.
