How Long Do Troops Affect Map Room?

  I know this has been asked and answered  before, but last night we were trying to capture a base, and it didn't go as I expected based on my understanding.  So here is the question again.

  When less than ten troops enter the map room, how much time to we have to get additional troops in before the first troops "disappear"?  As I understand it, each trooper does a set amount of "damage" to the map room, and there is a repair time for that damage.  If enough additional troops enter the map room before the damage is repaired, the base is captured.  How long is this repair time?  Or do I have this completely wrong?

I *think* it's 15 minutes, but I could be wrong.  Now what I'm curious is what happens if you get 1 in, then 2 minutes later you get 5 in, then 2 minutes later you get 3 in.  Does it track each individual bit of damage and repair it after 15 minutes, or does the timer start over when the latest troop gets in?  Or does it count up to 15 minutes from the first one getting in, then reset?

The mansnail said that partial damage remained for 1/2 the unadjusted downtime of an object before disappearing. For instance if you dropped a couple 500lb bombs on a hanger you had 7.5 minutes to drop more ord and still have the first bombs help. If the unadjusted downtime for the flag is 30 minutes than it is 15 minutes. I am pretty sure there is no incremental healing

My own logic says each trooper should have a timer on it's own.  :old:

Should be.   ;)
Troops are functioning like a special kind of ords, and the 'damaged status' works like explained earlier in this thread. The two facts I do know for sure. And my observations over the years match the 15 minute limit.

It also would be very easy to simply test it in a custom arena :)
