....like the radar experiments.

No.  Those are good things.  We're talking about bad things.

You think it's a good thing. I'd take even more nightime over the radar excrementing.

I like the night for the extra challenge.

I've never logged off because of game conditions like night or eny, but in August I didn't log on as much as usual because of the radar experiments.

I would like more night time. I'm still trying to find as many constellations as I can.  As I have mentioned before. I have only found Aqua Man and two of the Three Stooges. Also, probably Chuck Berry.  :salute

This game is far from being set up for nighttime operations.

1.   No cockpit panel lighting
2.   No navigation lights
3.   No landing lights (to spot the stupid trees that are placed at the ends of the runways)
4.     Not to mention some sort of runway lighting

All other simulations that model nighttime have these items as they are required for safe nighttime operation of aircraft.
If these needed items are not going to be implemented into the game and readjusting the gamma is going to be the norm. Then that setting should be taken off the clipboard and be placed in the settings for the joystick for up and down adjustment.

I'd like that on an analog axis please. Buttons are so 1980.

Besides all that civvie stuff, night fighters aren't actually modeled.

Then why bother?

Get rid of it.  It makes people log off and that's counterproductive.

I simply move my gamma adjustment to 2.0 or 2.1.   It really doesn't last that long.

Which again begs the question: Why have it then?

Basically it is an inconvenience that people can get around by gaming the system.

The moment when the lack of light becomes a problem is subjective, but from the time it starts to get dark enough to be a problem until it becomes light enough to see clearly is more than "a few minutes".

I want to fight at high noon in glorious Technicolor.   :x

Turning up gamma makes everything look like poo.  Most of the time, I will log out and come back in an hour.  Does anyone log out because the sun is shining?   Low light conditions serve no purpose in the Melee Arena.
