Unexpected Smoothness Shading Behavior in AC3D Import
« on: January 10, 2019, 08:12:37 PM »
I've been having a hard time trying to figure out how to apply smooth shading to my imported objects.  They just come in with flat poly shading.

As a test, I exported the Sheep shape and did nothing other than rename it and it's bitmaps and re-import it in as Sheep2.  I made no other modifications than the export, rename, re-import.  However the Sheep2 is rendered as flat poly.

Import bug?

See attached images.  "smooth.png is the original before export.  "flat.png" is the same shape re-named and re-imported.

:salute,

[edit] Is the import perhaps ignoring the "SURF 0x10" AC3D modifier?
