This is one hell of a video. I found it months ago, and watch it regularly. Love Robbie at the end. And Ringo..."F Demented..."
Flight Leader: "Bogeys at 2 o'clock!"
Wingman: "Roger, It's 1:30 now, what do I do 'til then?"

Do you know who named them the Band? Or  how the band name  came about?
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

I know it came about when Dylan left. Wasn't it Helms?

:)

They were originally called the Jayhawks(correction: the Hawks) and ran across another US band by the same name...so they was going to change it to "the Jayhawks or Jayhawkers , but didn't like that name....this was iirc, after Dylan had his motorcycle wreck and moved in up northern New York state where Dylan and the Band were at the Pink house doing the basement sessions....the Band had started backing Dylan right before all this took place and instead of thanking them by their band name he would say "give it up for the band"....so they kept it as their band name during those basement tape sessions

BTW, I haven't bothered to check your Wikipedia link,  because I watched Robbie Robertson and Levon Helm describe it just as I've posted many years ago
