With regard to the 41 Sqdn Spitfire, it's a real looker - great metal texture. Wonder what the ceiling for this aircraft would be in AH, if you took an air start and only 25% fuel, maybe a slipper tank, fired off all the ammo and just climbed till it won't go any higher...
EDIT: I just performed this experiment with 25% fuel and a slipper tank. I had reached 39,100 ft when I finally ran out of fuel. My all-up weight according to the E6B computer was 6450 lbs at the end, and I was still climbing at 250fpm. I think if I'd been able to strip out the armor and radio weight, 40,000 ft is achievable...
