I'm sure I have many.

This morning it dawned on my that if I put the cream and sugar in my cup first and then pout the coffee, I can fill the mug up perfectly.

1962 I was 10 years old, My Father and Mother had just surrendered to go the to the Mission field in the Belgian Congo. We were going to join my  dads brother, a medical Doctor, out in the bush 350 miles south of the capital, Léopoldville. We were located on the Angola/Congo border, on the Kwango River, 50 miles south of the territory capital Kasonga Lunda. For my brother and I it was just one big adventure after another.

It was not until 20 years later, when I started have children of my own, I finally understood how much faith and commitment it took my parents to fulfill what God called them to do.

Well, this wasn't exactly 'too late in life,' but it happened.  Right before I left home to go to college in another state, my mother advised me, "Son, don't go up there and be a sexual intellectual."  I thought she was telling me to watch where I put my p**ker.  After I graduated, I realized she had told me not to be a bleeping-know-it-all.
