Big thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin, some of which came from a Hungarian book he bought specially. This skin was requested by Devil505 for a future event.
The Royal Hungarian Air Force operated a variant of the Me 210 they called the Ca-1. This was built in a Hungarian factory under license and was similar to late model German Me 210s except that it had more powerful DB603 engines. In April 1944 the RHAF tried employing their new Ca-1s in the "Zestorer" role by attacking the USAAF bomber formations which had recently begun attacking Hungarian cities. After heavy losses to P-38s and B-24 gunners they were soon withdrawn though. After this the Ca-1s were flown by the three squadrons of the 102nd Bomber Group and used against the Soviets as fast dive bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. In this role they were a lot more successful, able to avoid interception much of the time and to deliver very accurate attacks.
This particular aircraft Z0+27 was flown by Sergeants Sumegi and Kiss of 102/2 "Tiger" squadron during the winter of 1944. It's colourful red white and green upper tail markings were overpainted to make them less visible from above as by this time Hungarian airfields were coming increasingly under attack from USAAF and Soviet aircraft.
