This skin is an adoption of Larry/TrueKill's original skin.
Bf 109E-4 operated by III/NJG 1 in the simmer of 1941. This Emil is one of two in NJG 1 known to have been painted with RLM 22 overall. I elected to use the same blue tinted shade as my Bf 110C skin from NJG 1 as a color photo showed the difference between the fuselage paint and the black seen in the insignias. The same effect is replicated on this skin. There was debate over the color of the fuselage code, gray or red, but it seems that the facts point to the colors being red.
