I saw a add on youtube last night for the new VKB throttle, at least I think that's what it was advertising.

Their pedals don't have brakes?

They're weird, Shuff. The pedals operate independently. Idea being it's a fine motor skill just pivoting your foot/ankle vs your whole leg with standard peds. You can use them as brakes by setting it up in the software. There's a brake lever on the stick. When you squeeze that you push either pedal to operate the brake on that side.

I have mfg pedals. "Normal" kind. They have toe brakes. I have a vkb stick. I use the brake lever axis on it in AH. Halfway toggles dive flap in the 38. Full pull is both wheel brakes.

They're too late for me. I waited over 5 years after they first announced this. I went with a virpil throttle and it's great. I really wanted to stay with one brand software but found the answer to that problem in joystick gremlin. I have a massive profile set up with that and use the rotary switch on the throttle to toggle setups from AH to IL2 to MSFS literally "on the fly".

Unless I'm missing something it looks like they didn't work out the magical electric detents they kept going on about. I hope it's a nice throttle although I won't be replacing mine. Interested to see some reviews once it gets actually released.

From what little I could see of it, I like the Virpil cm3 for esthetics, but I really can't get a full visual on the VKB. I also have no idea what the VKB is capable, or what it's going to cost since no stats were released,

I love the VKB Gunfighter Pro stick. I saw the ad for their new STECS throttle. I found some good photos along with descriptions of the different options. If you are looking for a throttle modeled after the Su-57 to match the MCG Pro Ultimate stick grips, then this is the throttle for you. I was more interested in their original concept of making a sliding throttle that operated similar to the MiG-29/Su-27 throttles.

I have Warthog HOTAS, but I use the VKB stick with all of the WinWing Hornet throttle/combat panel/take-off panel/UFC/MFD hardware. I don't really need any new hardware at the moment. If I were to buy anything right now, it might be the WinWing Orion 2 throttle with grips for the F-16 and F-15E/EX. But my experience with the VKB sticks tells me that their build quality, longevity, control density, and programmability would make their throttle a better choice over the long run. I will wait and see what people have to say about both the Orion 2/F-15EX combo and the STECS. I might just retrofit F-15EX grips onto my existing Hornet throttle, but you lose a little functionality by not switching to the Orion 2 base: a 4-way hat (whose center press still works) and two little buttons on either side of the hat.

In addition to the new STECS throttle, VKB has announced the Gunfighter IV stick base and the ability to get kits to upgrade Gunfighter III sticks to the IV standard. I am more excited about this than the throttle. The IV has one key feature that will get my money: you can swap grips without reflashing the base. The new base unit will sense which grip is attached and automatically use the correct firmware/config file. I already have all the VKB grips and bought the adapters to convert my Warthog A-10/F-16 and F/A-18 grips to VKB. The ability to swap them at will is something I have always wanted. I have two Gunfighter II bases that I upgraded to the III standard. I guess I will be upgrading them to the IV standard. But I also need new bases, "black boxes", to get the auto swap feature. So maybe I will buy a complete IV stick and keep the old ones as III's?

I still prefer the looks of the Virpil CM3.

The $199 price point mentioned in one of the posts does make it more attractive, depending on what you get for that price.
