I've been using Ublock Origin. It's lightweight, does a decent job and there's a version for all major browsers.

I use AD Block Plus and UBlock (can't be too careful) plugins for Firefox.

Brave browser. Built-in ad blocker and adjustable cookie and fingerprint protection. My spam decreased significantly after I started using it.
