Thinking of playing AH
« on: October 29, 2023, 02:23:35 PM »
Thinking of playing AH again. I have not played for about 4-5 years. Is there still aircraft carriers in the game? I am missing flying my zero. Been playing IL2 and there is no pacific theater in IL2. Plenty of players, but no Japanese planes or Carrier based aircraft. Also is the numbers worth even trying to play again?

Thanks Cheech

Not too many people, 120 or so usually prime time but of course it’s worth it to me lol. It’s still super fun and immersive and probaly the same as you left it.

Have you played IL2 1946. It has all the Pacific stuff and is really modded but no multiplayer.

Back in 2022 after a loooooong break from 2010. Old name Ratpack, same for the BBS.

Squad I did the most tours with were the Excaliburs then The 172nd Rabid Dogs. Still trying to talk Illigaf, Coola, Oldman22, and Joecrow into coming back instead of being boring old farts!

Quit thinking and DO IT!  Numbers were over 130 last night, but usually hang out around 120 at prime time.  It's the same game you left!

The game is still strong, and carriers are heavily used.

Howdy, Cheech.

Saturday is our last frame of the Eastern Front scenario we are running.

Come on back and come fly with us on Saturday.  No Pacific planes in this one, of course, but lots of scenario fun.

It starts at 7 pm Eastern US time in Special Events 2 arena.

La-5's, Yak-9's, P-39's vs. 190's, 109's, Ju 88's.

Absolutely give it a shot. You will find fights at most times of the day from 10am to 1am CST. Do not listen to dadtallica. Not only is his pessimistic view and opinion of this game not helpful but his in-game skill matches his lack of enthusiasm for what the game is today.

Players like him rarely contribute to starting the fights or maintaining them without a superior advantage. They just want the arcade style furballs that other titles provide. AH is a time investment. It's one of the few things that separates itself from its competition. Not everyone is about that life but I assure you the rewards are unmatched in the gaming industry to this day.

AH is and will always be what we make of it. I encourage you to give the game another chance. During your first two weeks I suggest you look for who the "winners" are and stick around them for awhile.

Fights last night between 8 and 11pm cst were a blast.  The map that was up has produced great fights since 2008, maybe even earlier.
