This is another special event request that I'll also submit for the MA.
This Spitfire Mk IX was the personal aircraft of Squadron Leader James Storrar, CO of 65 Squadron in 1943. It's markings included an unusual five letter squadron code, a Squadron Leader pennant on the fuel tank and the squadron emblem on the engine cover.
Storrar scored eight kills flying Hurricanes with 145 Squadron during the Battles of France and Britain. He was then promoted and made CO of 73 Squadron in the Desert campaign but was sent home in mid 1941 to recover from malaria. After a spell as an instructor he was made CO of 65 Squadron for most of 1943, where he scored his ninth and last kill in a sortie over France. He retired from the RAF in 1947 to begin a career as a vet.
