I am using a Quest 3 and combined with the VR Kneeboard app, I was able to experiment with passthrough in DCS World. As I used the kneeboard to provide the mask, I could easily toggle the mask on and off with a mapped button on my HOTAS. It works really well. Of course, per this video it is best if the real-world cockpit matches the virtual cockpit. My chair/panels are setup with the WinWing Hornet throttle and panels, but it worked adequately with the F-4E, especially since I could leave it toggled off until I wanted to rapidly access controls without having to feel around for them.
