X/Twitter Privacy Issues
« on: February 05, 2025, 08:44:18 AM »
I literally have ZERO interest in X/Twitter.

But people post links that can’t be viewed.
Out of curiosity I looked into why.

Message I got was Firefox tracking prevents access.
So I turned it off, no joy. So I started disabling all my security one at a time until I figured if I gave to turn off all my security to view a page then I consider it a security risk. You can’t even start an account without disabling everything. Never disabled everything, screw that.

So just to test further I tried using Edge, same thing.

I consider X probably a security risk. Any site that dies this does not have good intensions. Glad I never joined. Never will.

I've seen no security issues with X. However, I've seen many computers hacked/infected through Facebook. Many.

“Seen”? Profile hacks yes, computer hacks I’ve never heard of.

What makes you think I like FB? I’m not going to defend FB. But those are not done by FB, they are done by users.

In X’s case it smells like the owner has same privacy issues.
Even if they did nothing, it makes you run your device unprotected for someone to everything else,…your pc over profile.

But then denial is your trait.
Someone in IT would KNOW how stupid it is, or they are really bad at it.

Stay on subject pin heads, its not a political post its security post. Stay focused.
Its your tribe consumed whole with politics.  Not everything is political. Shocking I know.

Again. NOT liberal nor progressive. I’m a human who doesn’t need his hand held in thought and logic by anyone. <shrug>

The iwner was not elected to anything. So the ghost is in your head;)

Over years of IT support I've seen many computers infected by viruses the users got from Facebook. Obviously not from Facebook per se but through what others post on FB.

I've had a facebook account since it grew beyond the colleges and Twitter account going back to it's origin. Neither of those has been heavily used by me so my knowledge comes from cleaning up messes of those who are more adventurous than cautious.

You obviously want to make a political statement. I'm giving you the benefit of my many years working in IT.

Ok, I’ll give it 2 min.
Would you advise people to visit a site that requires them to disable everything you tell them they need? The name or owner of the site matters not, insert any website.

I don’t like social media. There is enough toxic in life, no need to run after it. Evidently some have a quota to meet. I’m good.

Bzzzt wrong!
Since when do I insinuate anything? If I want to say something I will just say it. I’m very direct. If it were political i would not have posted it. I have never started a political post. I didn’t suddenly start.

How would you know X is a security risk if you can't even access it? Billions of other people can and do. I'm going with you making a political denouncement.

Do not tell me what I think, I don’t care what you think. Thriw that crystal ball away, its broken.

I explained myself clearly ON THE SUBJECT.
Seems to me you are the ine antsy for pitics. Its you who has it cocked and load and on top of your head.

News flash, not everyone is like you. YOU made it political. You’re trollin for it.

If you’re giving me IT insight, which I’ve done, then you know better. Of course they can access it, they are wide open,

One more political accusation and I’m done here.  I’m a grown adult.
