It may look pretty, but I've read in Argo's board that frame rates in 32M cards have taken a 40% plus hit.

Some posts (iceman?) stated that 64Meg cards don't take as big a hit.

I d/l ed and tried the original beta plus one update and was extremely disappointed.

have since deleted WBIII.

By the way anyone noticed that the abbreviation for Warbirds III looks a lot like W (as in Wild) Bill???

LOL WBIII = WBILL

I'll have to bring that up to those guys, just to get a reaction.

Well, if you look at my screenshots, My Moon over Mustang shot is at 60 FPS and my shot of the mustang buzzing the town is at 32/36 FPS, so yeah, it gives you a hit.  BUT, VOR says optimization not done yet AND 30+ FPS is still eminently playable.  My system is an average middle of the road system - Celeron566/32MB GeForce2GTS/256 MB System RAM/Win98/DX8.0a

Given the increased amount of textures and poly's over a fairly detailed city, I am not surprised at all by the FR drop.  If they can reduce the drop by half, I'll be extremely impressed (which may be because I just don't know any better   )

I hate to say it but planes are very nice looking in WB3. I think the team understood that fancy/characteristics paint jobs are indeed popular.

And finally, some stripes on a P47 ... I've been begging for those since the first P47.

Frenchy if you wave those pompoms for WBIII again while you are in the AH cheerleader outfit, I swear by the holy sheep that I will beat your head in with a baseball bat made out of EDO RAM taped together.
