U-2/Po-2? i think both designations are correct, not sure though, you are correct though ra, they build LOADS of these things.  They could be used for training, reconaisance, transport, medivac, and most famously, the "Night Witches Role" I believe women flew the night witch role but i'm not sure, basicially they used these to attack at night I also heard they were called the night B1tches because of their tendency to aim for the pilot.

Another interesting fact is that U-2s were used in the Vietnam war by the North Vietnamese due to the fact the thing went so slow no plane in the airforce could engage it at the low/slow altitudes it flew at.  The F-4s simply couldn't fly that low and slow without stalling out.

U2, it is:)

Women did endead fly them and if memorie servies the unit with the most heros of the Soviet Union in it was one of these units, Women played a magor role in the Red Army,The population of the Soviet Union in the WW2 perioud being somthing like 53% female i think had somting to do with it and the very nature of a comunist society lent its self to this, women were more equiles in their society, serving in numiours front line units in every conceavable capacity, even fighter piolets, I think the second higest scroring Russian snipe was a women(in terms of total kills).
