My TM FLCS has the same type of hat.  They always advertised it as a 4 way hat even though you could program the corners.  The problem was that hitting the corners was very problematic and if you tried to hit the corner on a single press you were far more likely to hit on of the adjacent side programs.  I found it impossible to use one hat for views and wound up using the first three hats to mount the view system.

Note that compared to the F-22 PRO and F-16 FLCS, the Cougar hats have been purposely brought out more so imparting great control and increased throw on the hats and improving direct movement into the corner positions. They're very nice ;)

Truely does anyone "really" think that they don't have eight way function ?

Oh, we all believe they have eight way function....  just like we believe that the FLCS does.   The question is have they improved it enough to be able to use it seamlessly in combat.  Thats what I want to see.

I've used my FLCS or F22 for 8 way views since Warbirds and never had a problem.  What's not seamless for ya?

I have not had any issues with setting up my hats to move to the 8-way positions on the F-16 FLCS that I have. I rarely use it in AH though since I can get all the views in I need in the regular setup.

Having talked at length with James "Nutty" Hallows via email about the functionality of the Cougar programming he is building; I think it should be very easy to work with. Just read the notes on the programming over at the Thrustmaster.com site. You might have to go into the archives since they posted it back in December and January. He uses a keyboard emulator called "Korgy" in the program to help you see what keystrokes are pressed for the different programming functions.

Canceled my Thrustmaster couger order .

After rereading my posts I came to the conclusion that I like the FFB in AH way to much to give it up .

That plus my rig at present is paid for .
