Question about rudder sensitivity
« on: March 11, 2002, 02:16:03 PM »
Several months ago, I moved from a twisty stick to an all CH (pro pedals, pro throttle, and a ch stick.)

I immediately noticed an inability on my part to make small rudder adjustments.  I assumed this was simply something that would come with time.  Well, it didn't.   I have tried a variety of settings (every reasonable combination) and nothing would give me the ability to effect small amounts of rudder input.

I spoke to Nimitz about this and he related that circumstances once forced him to fly without a rudder for several weeks.  He said it was the best thing that had happened to him.  Today, he rarely (if ever) uses the rudder when he's trying to gain a firing solution.

Anyone else have this problem?  Did you resolve it?  If so, what did you do?
