Boot to desktop now

I posted that my sys on the skitz.  Now AH is entirely unplayable.  Boot to desktop.  Explorer.exe appears to be corrupted as I cannot open up AVI files or MPG movies.  Here is the error I get when I check out the event logs.

The application, explorer.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 03/13/2002 @ 16:18:38.294 The exception generated was c000008c at address 1D322A79 ()

My system is Windows 2000 SP2
Direct X 8.1 Just reinstalled it last night
VIdeo Card/drivers  
Radeon 7200 version 5.13.1.6014 IRQ 9
MS sidewinder Precision PRo 2
IRQ 5,7,10, 11 not used

We looking at a reinstall of OS here?

I would say definately a reinstall is in order.  I would be concerned with what may have caused this corruption in the first place.

Have you overclocked your system??

Have not overclocked it.  Not sure what caused it, but I will give it a try and report back after the reinstall and see if it fixed.
