Recently there has been an initiative on the island for judges to find alternatives to sentancing criminals to prison.

A case of sexual assault was before the court yesterday...apparently a guy lured a girl who was collecting donations for a charity into his car and sexually assaulted her.  He pleaded guilty, but his lawyer was arguing that as a young man he would benefit from sexual therapy and that prison would simply turn him into a worse crimminal.

The judge postponed sentancing in the case until next Wednesday requesting that the defense produce three examples of where a man up for such a henious crime was sentanced to therapy instead of jail time.  He also shrugged and said, "In my opinion he can get therapy in prison."

He then turned to the defendant and said "When you come on Wednesday, bring your pajamas."

I like this judge.

If Bermuda Prison is anything like the American vision of prison (sorry don't know anything about it myself, and not planning on learning lol) He will get some very good "Role Playing" Therapy, where he gets to "Role Play" the victim of Sexual Assault. All the same though, I bet he repeats when if and when he gets out.

Unfortunately the prison here is more like a resort with some rules.  Having said that though in any prison the perpetrators of sexual crimes are persona non grata and will have a tough time of it, even in Westgate...our prison here.

If that was my daughter that was assaulted I would pay someone to ensure that her rapist had a "Date" every night while inside.

Lets hope he gets the same therapy you suggest, in any case.

Which would probably get you time yourself. Acts of protective rage will generally be overlooked by the courts, but conspiring to harm someone (even in prison) will get you jail time.

I'm not saying you're wrong to want to do that. Just that it wouldn't happen without consequences.

Oh yes it would.....I wouldn't advertise it.  Besides, I have some friends in high places...but having grown up here I know some in "low places" too.  It would be very easy to accomplish without me getting caught.

Funny that.   If it was *my* daughter (if I had one) the guy would be beaten black and blue every day while inside and on the day of his release there'd by 5 or 6 gentlemen all going by the name "Bubba" waiting to give him a *ride* home, if ya know what I mean.

Ahhhh....daughter control.

True story:

When my daughter (who is living on her own now and doing just fine thank you) was 15 she ran away with her boyfriend. They never left town, and I tracked them to his mothers apartment (this was day 2). She (the boys mother) was going off to work at 9:00pm and actually thought that they would show up there after she left. She gave me a key to her place and said "if you need to slap him around feel free".
I grabbed my son and a couple of his friends and we just walked in the door. Now one of my son' friends was home from college on a football scholarship. He saw one kid laying on the sofa sleeping. He leaned over and said very softly " I know your awake , but I wouldn't move either if I were you" The kid never budged. I went into the back room where there were 3 more of the bastards hiding my daughter. I looked them each in the eye and asked them to step aside (I'm about 6'1" 220...it helps to be bigger than the bad guys) they parted like the red sea.
She quietly left with me and has never looked back..I was ready that night to do some damage, I'm glad it wasn't necessary.

LOL Midnight...good for you.

My father went down to one of the local nightclubs once in his pajamas to track down my sister when she was 16.

She was so embarrassed that she didn't do it again!
