New to Aces High, would like some info

Lo all,

Hi, I'm Tazman I usually play Air Attack over here in the UK but it looks like our host is wrapping the service up.  So I thought I would try Aces High.

I was wondering if you could answer some questions for me

1) are there many UK players?

2) what's the cost to play in £?

3) if I decide to play do you have squads with matches and leagues etc etc

There is an AH ladder for that matter. But there are also general squad scores for MA and CT.

Hi Taz, no - your questions are not in the least bit stupid!

There are quite a few players in the UK, many of us having come from Air Warrior over the last few years.  If you would like to get in touch with other UK and Europe based pilots, we have a mailing system, usually accessed at our Kraits website (http://www.airwar.org.uk), but currently the registration page is not working.  If you would like to join this "mailbot", send an email to Spiffy - spiffy@kraits.org - and he will add you on.

As thrila says, the $15 a month works out around £10.88 a month, varying with exchange rates of course.

There are various special events, but one aimed at squads is the TOD - Tour of Duty.  There are two versions of TOD, one held at an unearthly time on a Friday night when you and more are most likely tucked up in our respective beds, and the other at a much more respectable time of 8.00 pm UK time on Saturdays.    Details of the Saturday TOD can be found at:  http://events.simladder.com/tod_sat.php (don't worry if you are not yet in a squad in the Main Arena, as squads taking part are allowed to take guests -  just post a message in the TOD forum to ask if you can be a guest).  If you do get involved in the Saturday TODs in the future, you may notice me in there occasionally, typing in the TEAL text...
