Button config for MS Sidewinder Precision 2?
« on: April 15, 2002, 01:42:31 PM »
I have an MS Sidewinder Precision 2 stick (is this good enough for the game?) and would like to see what would be a good configuration for it, it has 8 buttons total and an 8 directional hat, + twisting rudder + throttle. I'm not sure what would be a good config for the game. Thanks for the help..

I think a lot of people in AH have a Precision Pro (of one variety or another) and it works great.  Mine is very smooth and I haven't had a problem with stick spiking.  I have the following setup.

Hat: All set to different views, left front, left, left rear, rear, right rear, right, right front, and up front (the 45 deg up view).
Trigger: Primary Guns
3 Buttons on stick top: Zoom, Secondary Guns, Weapons Toggle (for changing between bombs/rockets/etc).
4 buttons on base: Up left, Up right, Up back and Straight Up.

I don't have the shift button mapped on the stick base.

I prefer having the view buttons all in one place on the stick and reach to a keyboard for other things.  I find the views need to be more accessable when in flight.

Hope this helps.

throttle for AH on the cheap

This should work fine in AH for little money at all .

Has 10 buttons , plus a 8 way hat that surely could beused to at least 4 more buttons . Plus the throttle wheel .

Just think for 23 bucks you would have a whole bunch more buttons .

Should be fine for any game that can map muti controlers like
AH , you would use the pad for the throttle and buttons . But you would IMO not be using the bottom four buttons on the PP2 stick .
