Sounds missing and no AH Voice
« on: April 29, 2002, 07:22:50 PM »
Ok I'm going to try to explain this the best I can.

Ok I can hear certain sounds in the game like my plane being hit by bullets, or Yankee's base under attack, I can also hear my planes engine and start up.

Now I can't hear things like flaps, landing gear, guns firing, and the tires screaching when I land.

I can also hear people on AH Voice but they can't hear me Transmit.  I'm so frustrated.  1.09 worked when I first got it but now it's not.  I haven't done anything to my computer either.

Here is what I've tried so far.  I uninstalled AH and redownloaded the whole patch.

No Help.

I then uninstalled my sound card and reinstalled it and the drivers.

No Help.

I have a:

1.4 AMD 1600 XP
512 DDR Ram
Geforce 2 Pro 64mb
SB Live 5.1 Value
Headphones with mic
Windows 98SE
Asus Motherboard with Via Chipset

Are you using any custom sounds? Try going to this directory through windows explorer. C:\Program Files\ HTC \ Aces high\ Sounds

See if the sounds are there and if they work. If they do try going into sounds and make sure that they are all turned up.

For the voice : In windows double click on the speaker icon. Make sure that the mic is muted. Now click on options and properties. Put the dot in record.
Click ok. Make sure that the mic is turned all the way up and the box labeled select has a check in it. Click back on options and properties, put the dot back in playback. click ok and close the volume settings out. Launch Aces High, Go in to key mapping. Make sure that general has the dot in it and scroll down to Mic channel and Mic Range. Click on Mic Channel and then click on the F12 key at the top. Click set key. Do the same for Mic Range and F11 Click ok. Now bring up the text buffer by hitting the / key. Type .radio 5 yourgameid. Hold down the f12 key and talk. If you can hear yourself then you are working.
