Want 16 views on your 8 view hat???
« on: May 10, 2002, 03:35:02 PM »
There is one easy way to do it, this sets up a button to work as a "switch" between stick set 1 & stick set 2.

Setup/stickmapping/global views, about 1/3 down.

Can use any Jstick button but I suggest one close to the hat switch easy for your thumb to hit for alternating views.

Once stickset is setup, go to views, map all "UP" views to stickset 2, hat 1 same as the flat views.

Example

Look left, hat 1 left, set 1
Look left up, hat 1 left, set 2

You can also use stickset to switch between full guns & primary only which is pretty nice if you fly birds with mixed guns.

seems like an inefficient method IMO....

I prefer to just map one joystick button to 'UP' view.  I press and hold it along with the hat for my 'up' views.  I can see that with the method above at least I wouldn't need to hold the button, but for tracking a con through multiple views i much prefer my method.

For just the views yes your up button works.
The second you add in the guns select or any thing else you want to map in, stick set is better/easier.

Trim would be a natural for stickset I think.
May have to experiment with that a bit.

with the key map i have one joystick base button for up and one button set for down  Alias the # 0  and #5  .  now using either of those with the 8 way hat mapped in makes for a total of all 26 views  , I still can use the # pad for views and it makes for a easier adjust  with the arrow keys and to  lock head position   F10 .

Remember to set your head positions in each plane .

I use stick sets to add in the down view.  Stick sets 3 and 4 have a button mapped for down.  Which I only use in buffs.

Stick sets 1 and 2 differ only in guns.  Stick set 1 has trigger for secondary(cannons), B2 for primary.  Stick set 2 has trigger for all guns, B2 for secondary.
