The best defensive manuever in any BnZ plane is good Situational Awareness (SA) and patience. Know when to fight, and know when to leave.
Preserve your E, and always stay on TOP of the fight. If you see dots coming towards the fight, and you are not sure they're your team, disengage and come back another day.
And rip the wings off on a P-51? Come on Vulcan
I have had the IAS gauge pegged and not ripped the wings off a Pony. All you have too do anyways is let the con go pure vertical, do a lazy corkscrew dive (lag pursuit), and when he has to level out I will be above, behind, and in a faster plane.
So please all 190 pilots take this advice
My experience as a dedicated Pony driver says that while the Pony and 190 both stink at turning. If all other things are equal the Pony will win any turn fights with his flaps.
Of course the better pilot will usually be the deciding factor.
