Auto gunners for un-gunnable bombers?

There exists a group of aircraft which have some kind of gun position, which is fairly useless.  The positions are only able to be usefull when combined with pilot maneuvering, and no sane gunner would ever join up just to gun an il2.

So lets give them auto gunners, to at least throw some rounds past an airplane on thier six.  They can have the simplest of aiming abilities, so they can only actually hit a plane that isnt maneuvering(i.e. closing from the rear)  

This would make the rear guns on the 110s, il2, sbd, val, a20, tbm, etc something that people should think about, instead of just pretending they dont exist.

The way gunning works now, if the pilot switches to a gun, the plane is forced to fly straight and level, which is suicide when your only defense is a .303 class MG(maybe two)  because of netlag, antoher player joining up cant gun except when the plane is straight and level because of the netlag.  How about making the guns usefull?

The rudder lets you make adjustments, not maneuver.  It's trivial to stay out of a planes line of fire with the nice slow rudder-based turns.

The rudder turns work well in the well defended bombers, but not in the ones that lack a tailgun.

I usually go into auto-climb, and then use the rudder, actually.  I can usually get a few hits, but you are correct that most smart folks will just wait it out until they can get a good shot from directly behind.

Or, I shout on the squad channel and see if anyone is sitting in the tower.  Usually people don't mind taking 20 seconds of gunnery practice.

I guess I been  flying a different game. I coulds sworn the TBM; A-20 and Me-110 have rear gunner capability. In fact I recall having gotten shot at on more than one occassion by them, especially when the 110s fly in 3 plane tandems.
