Help! Anyone using a Netgear FVS318NA Router ?
« on: November 18, 2002, 09:31:18 PM »
Is anyone out there using a Netgear FVS318NA Router successfully for gaming to this site?  My FVS318 is connected to a cable modem for highspeed internet access, the problem or issue I'm  having with it is that it changes it's protocols, shifting from intially UDP packets (fast thoughput) to TCP packets (slower throughput). I get the orange chat line stating this a few seconds into the game while still in the tower.

The system that's doing this downshifting to TCP is connecting into the switched ports on the router at 100Mbps.  I have an older system that hits the router ports at 10Mbps and I do not get this UDP to TCP message.  Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. The TCP packets make gaming inaccurate/slow.

Thanks in advance...c H e F
