The Ultimate Sound Pack: patch
« on: March 22, 2001, 02:17:00 PM »
Oops, I goofed! Thanks to Saw for pointing this glitch out; I had the Hispano guns volume set WAY too low. The first time through reading his e-mail I noticed it, but figured it was something on his end. Until I took the Tempest for a short joyride and noticed even I couldn't hear the guns!!! I did some checking with other aircraft and things are Ok. All the other gun sounds are set properly and there's no other SNAFUs.

The Ultimate Sound Pack

Patch is in the downloads section. It will automatically over-write the existing 20mm gun sounds in the C-hog, Tempest and Typhoon. Just tell it where you stuck AH's sounds folder and it'll do the rest. Only 61k too.

[edit] Me being in a hurry to get this patch out I completely forgot a little piece of advice. Don't go messing with the sound volume mixer in AH unless you're using RW. I balanced these sounds out to be near perfect volume-wise with the default 80% settings. I upped the volume for explosion sounds and the flak blast to 100%, but that's it.

Very Nice .. this is the first sound add-on that hasn't had a poping sound in the background.  Only tried the spitV so far and I like/love it.  Thanks for your hard work.

Sprint I was very careful to remove any pops or clicks in this entire sound pack. I literally spent hours listening to the same engine run over and over trying to pick out the slightest clicking sound. Anytime I found one I removed it; whether it was easy or not. For two of the engine runs I split the sound into 5 pieces, fixed the pop, and mixed them back together.

As a side note, if anyone wants help doing sounds I'm willing to give a hand or share info.
