Niemen Skins
« on: January 03, 2003, 10:35:49 PM »
I was dinking with the very cool Niemen map tonight.  While it's a great example of the map-making art, which I have a great appreciation for now that I've tried it some :D, what really surprised me was that a lot of the rides have new skins.  Very nice.  I had no idea all that was in there, nor do I have a clue as to who did all that work.  But I figure they must read this forum so I figured I'd say "thanks" here.  It's sort of a shame we now have a real Stuka so the beautiful German skin for the Val will probably never see the light of day :(

I'd really like to use some of these skins as my defaults, especially the green tanks and spruced-up Russian fighters.  Is there a way to do that?

We all have a blind date with Destiny... and it looks like she's ordered the lobster.

Mmmm... Scotch.

Forgive me, Esme... what does that expression mean over there?   [edit: Duh. Never mind... you were referring to BH's siggy! Double-duh.]

Bullethead, if there are skins that you like, ask the terrain builder for them... I think most people here would be happy to share, as long as they're given due credit.

But unfortunately, I can't find the credits section on most of the terrains I have, so I have no idea whom to ask :(

Also, is it possible to have a new skin show up in the MA, IOW to make it the default skin for a plane?  If so, how?

Anyway, I've made some progress on my P51B -> A36 skin.  Still have a long way to go but you can see the general idea here and why I needed to get rid of the MARKINGS stuff.  When I get done with this, I'd like to make it my default as well ;)
