Actually, I think those little GV combat towns that Kanttori put into the Fin-Russ map provide some interesting possibilities. Indeed, if they were combined with the GV base in the same way that airfields have towns, they would become a magnet for action. I would not require the town to be leveled for capture, however. Otherwise, friendly forces could not destroy the buildings in the town, which you sometimes want to do to clear a field of fire.
Hopefully, the CM’s will use this map for a scenario at some point, in which case, control of these towns could be incorporated into the victory conditions. If HTC ever gives us control of the 88-mm guns (which I believe Kanttori included in those little GV towns), this would make them even more challenging.
By the way Kanttori, in the next update of this terrain, could you please put the little revetments around the man-able defensive guns, if you can do so without blocking their own fields of fire? Also, when are we going to get bridges in a terrain that you can drive over? Not directed specifically at you, Kanttori…just frustrated that the long-awaited bridges are little more than eye-candy right now.
