rocket equivalence
« on: September 04, 2002, 12:45:37 PM »
i've looked in the help, but can't find this info. the search feature is disabled for the BB, or i would have done that.

my question is what is the relationship of rockets to bombs in terms of damage to target. when doing ground attack, is a rocket equivalent to a 100 lb bomb, or a 50 lb bomb or what?

thanks for any help

was in a hurry when this happened. might well have missed with 2 of the rockets i fired.

think i remember reading a post where someone was saying that the vehicle hanger at a vehicle field actually only needed 1000LBs, even though the vehicle hanger at an airfield needs 3000LBs(according to the chart in help).

the roughly 100lb number for the rockets would still be correct then. we were attacking the vehicle hanger at a vehicle field. since if i missed with 2, we would have then gotten 10 into the vehicle hanger.

Several times I've been able to destroy an unattacked VH with only 2 rockets. I use a low angle attack and fire 2 rockets into the hanger opening, into the center of the VH, under the netting. Hitting the netting seems to absorb damage. Don't know if this is a bug and a reward for good marksmanship. I've done this both at a vechile bases and airfields.

Rockets do about 140lbs of damage.  Also there is no difference in damage between the different nationalities iirc.

VH's at vehicle bases only take 1000lb or so.
