Anyone in the know about how to use this poorly designed software? Whenever I try to run the program, it asks me to select a file, and nothing in the thrustmaster folder or any game .exe's i have work.

I got a topgun fox joystick and have got rid of the thrustmapper sofwear. As long as the joystick is found in windows and working properly you can set it up with the key maping in the game.
I have had no problems since I started using mine with out the softwear.
