Mars01 it looks pretty obvious that you are refresh rate limited with a FPS that low.
And Slapshot tested with vsync disabled.

The ATI 9500 Card is the Sapphire with Red PCB and L shaped memory. The crack won't work for the "Black" card.

Direct3D settings are:

SMOOTHVISION II

  Anti-Aliasing = 2X

  Anisotropic Filtering = 8X

Texture Preference = High Quality

Mipmap Detail Level = High Quality

Wait for Vertical Sync = Always Off

TRUFORM = Application Preference

I also have a SONY Trinitron Multiscan G500 21" set at 100Hz refesh rate.

AMD XP 3000+
Asus A7N8X
512 Kinston DDR 3500 CL2 Memory
ATI Radeon 9800

3DMark 2003 score 5365-not overclocked

My refresh rate at 1600x1200 is 75,which is where my framerate stays with 6x AA and 2x AF turned on.

I replaced a Ti4400 with it,and it is much faster at high resolutions than the 4400.

Actually it will work it just wont turn it into a 9700.  You can hack the black card from a 128MB 9500 to a 9500PRO
