AH won't run

Blew up my video card somehow...replaced it with old 32 meg viper
v770,,,which I use to play with.......ah will not recognize my video card,,,,,,,,,,,locks up   on initial screen,,,,,,,,,only screen I can get to.
I have an old system,,,,P3
850...512ram,,,,win98 se.....
Soooo,,,,Ideas besides putting it curbside for monday pickup?Grounded

You may want to make sure you're not running anything later than DirectX 8.1.  I don't know for sure but that older vid card may not be able to handle DX9.

Hi Bingo,
 In the AH "settings" folder you will find a file called "video7.cfg" Delete (Or rename) it. This should force your system to go to the video selection screen.

Tried the above two remedies without success,,,,,,,I get the blank white screen , just as it states in the FAQ's however their solution does not  provide relief......deleted Dirext x9 and installed 8.0....no help there.........uninstalled AH and reinstalled it three times,,,,,,,,,hmmmm,,,clueless.  I do thank you for your suggestions however,,,,,S!

If the display device is not showing at all in the video setup, then try running DXDIAG and see if it sees the card.
