what do you think of these 2 films?
the 8th airforce one i love particularly yet it was maybe my 4th attampt at throwing a film and sounds together.Its actually a lot of fun and not so difficult.
this is what i found was the easiest way to make them.
First download radtools which is 'bink and smacker' compression tool
Then get yourself a freebie wave editor like goldwave
then download an avi editor like AVIedit
When you use the aces high editor to find the parts of the film you want, you will have to learn to use zoom and pan 'live' as you are making your avi file.Its tricky but theres lots of happy accident pans and zooms that make it look cool.
When you make the avi's dont compress them and keep lots of room on your Hardrive (2 or 3 GB) for storing them.Basically i did several films of each event I liked using various angles etc so i ended up with 3 or 4 different pans or views of the same peice of action.
Use AVIedit to edit and crop the films into your prefered sequence, using the different films of the same events spliced together for that film like effect.
One your film is how you like it its time to make an mp3 of your favorite peice of music and try to make it tally with the film if you want to be really clever by timing things in the films and points on the sounds you add.
Once your film is finnished used bink and smacker to compress it whilst adding your mp3 to it. Bink mixes them and is so easy to use you hardly need to read any of the manual. Using sliders and toggles its easy to test compress a film from 10% to 100% compression resulting in a loss in quality but an excellent reduction in size, from GB's to tens of MB's.
Then if its to your liking you can re-run it through bink to compress it even further. When you find your personal ballance between quality of picture and size of file you can save the film out as a .bik file.
Anyone with bink can play it.There is also a way to make it playable as a stand alone film but its hardly worth it, files are much smaller if they stay .bik's . BINK and smacker is a popular compression tool used probably as much as DivX which i found couldnt match the bink for quality of picture and sound whilst keeping similar size files,DivX was much bigger and harder to learn to use.(WW2OL uses bink for their films)

http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm)then you can use it to compress stuff or play .bik movies, it has no popup crap or adverts or anything like that and it has never causesd a single problem on my system so its a great free tool: the 2 films on here are jabo and mighty8th , both under 10 MB but long films and worth the download if you got cable or adsl etc.
