The GeForce cards are not known for their 2-D display quality, and maybe you don't care about that.  But if you do, some manufacturers use output stages that produce clearer 2-D output than others.  If you hunt around the Web, you can find some discussion on this point.  It's been a long time, but if I recall correctly, the issue is output capacitors, allegedly used for FCC compliance.  The problem is, the high frequencies that get filtered out are precisely those that are needed for sharp edges in the display.  The upshot is that some manufacturers used no or smaller caps, leading to better display quality.  I believe that I also saw some guides that explained how to easily clip the output capacitors off of boards that used large ones.

I've owned three GeForce cards by three different manufacturers, and aside from 2-D display quality, I've not noticed any differences among them.
